What personal information we collect and why

Comments

When site users leave comments on the site, we collect the information on the comments form, as well as the user’s IP address and browser version information, to help identify spam.

When visitors leave a comment on this site, we collect the information displayed in the comment fields, including the IP address and information related to the browser version. Anonymized hash information created from an email address can be sent to the Gravatar service to know if the commenter is a user of the service. Media

If you upload images to this site, you should avoid uploading images with stored location information (EXIF GPS). Visitors to the site can download and view location information from the images on the site.

Cookies

If you leave a comment on the site, you can choose to save the name, email address and url in the cookie. This feature adds convenience because you don’t have to fill out the form each time you add a comment. Cookie information will be deleted from your browser after one year.

If you have an account and log in to the site, we set a temporary cookie that determines whether or not your browser supports cookies. This cookie does not contain any personal information and is deleted when the browser window is closed.

When you log in, we set several cookies that store your login and display settings. Login cookies will be deleted within two days, cookies related to display settings will be deleted after one year. If you select “Remember me” when logging in, your login information will be kept for two weeks. If you log out, the cookies associated with the login will be deleted at the same time.

If you publish an article or edit an existing one, we store a cookie in the browser that contains the ID of the article to be edited. The cookie expires in one day.

Content embedded from other sites

Articles on this site may contain embedded content (such as videos, images, articles, etc.). Opening the embedded content imported from other sites is comparable to the fact that the visitor actually happen a third-party site.

These sites may collect information from you, uses cookies to embed third-party tracking cookies and monitor interaction with embedded content, including the monitoring of interaction if and when you are signed in as a user site.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics for visitor tracking. Google Analytics only collects anonymous information about the presumed interests of groups of visitors as well as the presumed demographics of groups of visitors. Information about the sites visited or individual visitors is not collected. The cookie information collected is anonymous and you can easily prevent it from being collected on our site.

How long we keep the information

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata will be retained for the time being. This is done so that we can automatically recognize and approve the following comments instead of keeping them in the moderation queue.

We store user profile information for registered users (if any). All users have the ability to view, edit and delete their own personal information at any time. Only the username cannot be changed. Webmasters can view and edit user profile information.

What rights do you have to your own information

If you have a user account on this site or have left comments, you may request a summary file of your personal information, including any personal information you have provided to us. You can also request the deletion of your personal information. The right to delete our own information does not apply to personal information that we are required to retain for administrative, legal or security reasons.

Where do we sent your information

Visitors’ comments may be reviewed through an automated anti-spam service.

If you send a contact request via the “Contact Us” form on the website, the information will be sent to an e-mail account owned by JRComplex Oy.

We collect visitor data using an analytics tool called Google Analytics.
